Put-and-take pheasant hunts will be offered at 18 location this fall including the DesPlaines and Iroquois County conservation areas and at Kankakee River State Park.
Hunters can now review permit reservation instructions on-line at the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Web site.
Dates and locations for the regular controlled pheasant hunt locally are:
DesPlaines Conservation Area near Wilmington — Nov. 4 to Jan. 3, 2010. Check-in is 7 to 8 a.m. Hunting is closed on Mondays, Tuesday, Nov. 20 to 22 and on Christmas Day.
Iroquois County Conservation Area near Beaverville — Nov. 4 to Dec. 20, Check-in is 7 to 8 a.m. closed Mondays, Tuesdays and Nov. 20 to 22.
Kankakee River State Park — Nov. 7 to Jan. 8, 2010. Check-in is 8 to 8:30 a.m. Closed Mondays, Tuesdays, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Youth hunt locations
Both the Des Plaines and Iroquois County conservation areas will offer a youth pheasant hunt on Nov. 8. Other state sites open on Nov. 8 for the youth hunt include Jim Edgar-Panther Creek, Green River, Johnson Sauk Trail, Moraine View, and Sand Ridge.
Eldon Hazlet and Wayne Fitzgerrell will be open on Nov. 15 for the youth pheasant hunt.
