A Will County judge has handed down a life sentence against a second Joliet man for his role in an April 2005 firebombing that killed a mother and her 4-year-old daughter.
The sentence against 21-year-old Ignacio Jacobo from Circuit Judge Richard Schoenstedt on Thursday was identical to that given to his co-defendant, 28-year-old Juan Santana in 2006.
Prosecutors said Jacobo threw a rock through a first-floor window of a Joliet home, and Santana then tossed in a firebomb that killed 35-year-old Maria DeLourdes Nunez and her daughter, Merary.
A third man indicted in the case testified against Jacobo and Santana and was sentenced last month to 20 years in prison for driving the other two to the crime scene.
