Elwyn Peterson — Momence
Elwyn V. “Pete” Peterson, 81, of Momence, was peacefuly called to be with the Lord on Friday (Oct. 16, 2009) at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Cotter Funeral Home in Momence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Momence. The Rev. Jerry Haley will officiate. Burial, with military rites by the Momence Honor Guard, will be in Lake Village Cemetery in Lake Village, Ind. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.

Russell Diment — Grant Park
Russell R. Diment, 62, of Grant Park, formerly of Peotone and Manteno, died unexpectedly Tuesday (Oct. 13, 2009) at Provena St. Mary’s Hospital. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home in Peotone, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Interment will be in Green Garden Greenview Cemetery in Manhattan. Memorials may be made to the family.

Utopia Gagnon — Decatur
Utopia Jane “Toby” Gagnon, 82, of Fair Havens Christian Home in Decatur, formerly of Gilman and Onarga, passed away at 1 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 14, 2009). Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m., at the Redenius Funeral Home, Gilman. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church, Gilman, with the Rev. Michael Pennock officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Gilman. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Robert Burmeister — Bourbonnais
Services for Robert G. Burmeister, 78, of Kankakee and Bourbonnais, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Mound Grove Gardens Mausoleum chapel. The Rev. Tom Hillertz will officiate. Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home, west Kankakee, is in charge of arrangements. He died Thursday (Oct. 15, 2009) at Riverside Medical Center.

Leonie Dole — Manteno
Leonie H. Dole, 93, a lifelong resident of the Manteno area, died Thursday afternoon (Oct. 15, 2009) at Miller Center in Kankakee, following a short illness. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 18, 2009) at the Brown Funeral Home, Manteno. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday (Oct. 19, 2009) at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Manteno, where she was a member. Father Anthony Nugent and Father Al Heidecke will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Manteno. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manteno, or to the Manteno Fire Department.

Fred Hoffeditz — Manteno
Fred N. “Fritz” Hoffeditz, 75, of Manteno, went to be with his Lord on Friday (Oct. 16, 2009) at his home. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the 5 p.m. funeral service at the Brown Funeral Home, Manteno. Bev Dalmer will officiate.
Burial will be in Deselm Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association or to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
