• Nan Mileo is addicted to helping others through volunteer work. She and dozens of other volunteers participated in an area-wide overdose of goodwill Saturday during the county’s “Christmas in April” event.
• The Downtown Kankakee Farmers’ Market opened its 11th season Saturday. Each week features approximately 26 vendors.
• Help is on the way for locals in need of prescription medicines. The Partnership for Prescription Assistance’s bus tour will be rolling in Wednesday to help uninsured or financially struggling residents learn if they are eligible for assistance programs that provide prescription medications for free or at a reduced cost.
