CHICAGO (AP) — Airlines preparing for blizzard-like conditions have canceled more than 300 flights from Chicago’s two airports.
Meteorologists warn arctic air hitting northern Illinois Monday night and Tuesday morning is bringing between 1 to 3 inches of snow.Chicago Aviation Department spokesman Gregg Cunningham says more than 300 flights have been canceled at O’Hare International Airport and delays run between 30 and 90 minutes.

More than 50 flights have been canceled at Midway Airport.

National Weather Service meteorologist Stephen Rodriguez says winds could be as fast as 35 mph and wind chills as cold as 20 below zero.

Rodriguez says the bitter cold plus blowing and drifting snow “doesn’t make for the best of conditions.”
