• Kankakee County’s Habitat for Humanity chapter began building its second “Habitat Home” on Saturday. The home is located in a lot donated by the City of Kankakee and the three-bedroom home goes to Dianne Summerville.

Gregory Joseph Rocha, 51, of Leavenworth, Kan., formerly of Bradley, died May 6, 2009, at his home. Burial, with full military honors, was in Fort Leavenworth Cemetery.

Visitation for Frances M. Allie, 96, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Kankakee, will be from 10 a.m. Monday until the 11 a.m. funeral service at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes. She died Thursday (May 14, 2009) in Bradenton.
