Suspect is holding hostages in Clinton campaign office in Rochester, N.H.

ROCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — A man claiming to have a bomb was holding one or more hostages at Hillary Clinton’s campaign office Friday, police said.

The man had what appeared to be a bomb strapped to himself, said Bill Shaheen, a top state campaign official. The two hostages were volunteers, Shaheen said.
Clinton was not believed to be in the office at the time.

Authorities were sending a tactical bomb unit to assist local police, and the area was evacuated, said Maj. Michael Hambrook of New Hampshire State Police. A nearby school also was in lockdown.

Injuries reported in train crash on Chicago’s South side

CHICAGO (AP) — An Amtrak passenger train collided with a freight train Friday on the south side of the city, fire officials said.

Approximately 150 passengers were on the Amtrak train, officials said. Fifteen ambulances were on their way to the scene. Conflicting reports put the scene of the accident in the 4800 block or 5200 block of South Shields Avenue.

“So far nobody is being taken on stretcher. That’s a good sign,” said Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford.

The engine of the Amtrak train was resting on top of the last car of the freight train, but the Amtrak cars remained upright. Firefighters were seen carrying several children from the accident scene.

WMAQ NBC 5 in Chicago was reporting some injuries. The station also reported the Amtrak train was coming from Grand Rapids, Mich.
