Chivas USA ties Chicago Fire 1-1

CARSON, Calif. (AP) _ Claudio Suarez scored on a penalty kick in the 82nd minute as Chivas USA salvaged a tie with the Chicago Fire 1-1 on Saturday night.

Chivas (14-6-6) maintained their spot atop the Western Conference standings while the Fire (8-10-9) inched closer to third-place Kansas City.

Jury selected in terrorism trial of 7 Miami men accused of plotting to blow up Sears Tower

MIAMI (AP) — A jury was chosen Friday for the trial of seven men accused of plotting with a man they thought was an al-Qaida operative to blow up Chicago’s Sears Tower and bomb FBI offices in several U.S. cities.
